Knowles is announcing its intent to acquire Sound Solutions, a division of NXP Semiconductors.
Headquartered in Vienna, Austria, Sound Solutions is a global market and technology leader in the
categories of dynamic speakers and receivers for mobile electronics, and have had this position
within the market for over a decade.
Knowles, based in the Chicago area, USA, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of
technologically advanced micro-acoustics solutions, including components to the global hearing aid
industry and MEMS surface mount microphones to major cell phone brands and consumer
electronic devices. Since 2005, Knowles is part of Dover Corporation, a global manufacturer of
industrial products.

to Knowles. Combining these two businesses will broaden the Knowles product portfolio and create
