SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an Electro-Acoustic Senior Manager to lead our dynamic product development team. Industry experience in miniature electro-mechanical components is required. We seek a key person who will drive the development of new designs through proof of concept and prototypes. Some detailed modification of existing designs may also be required at times. The successful candidate will be expected drive exceptional results with thorough new product introduction, and innovation. This individual will work closely with Sales & Marketing on design and technology concepts that are aligned with customer needs and business goals. Responsibilities include leading and managing a small team of senior level research & development engineers. Overall team quality and results will be attained through coaching, design reviews, development and implementation of design rules.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Plan Research and Development activity and manage the plan throughout the product life cycle
? Technically lead and direct engineers through hands on execution of design and research activity
? Manage new product development based on both concepts and customer requirements
? Actively work with Sales and Product Management to understand customer needs and future market trends
? Identify and innovate new products through investigative research, design practices and collaboration with subject matter experts
? Continually investigate the most innovative design methodologies, materials, tools, and practices to achieve the most competitive products in the market.
? Consistently push the extents of miniature microphone and transducer development with cutting edge ideas, and design methodology
? Work closely manufacturing and QA to assure highly successful, and manufacturable product launches without multiple re-spins
? Simultaneously evolve and execute numerous on-going projects
? Assist Application Engineering with technical support escalations that require deeper subject matter expertise
? Occasionally visit and co-development with customers on strategic and innovative products
? Continually look for patent opportunities to further help Knowles distinguish itself in the industry

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or Physics plus a minimum of ten years experience in product development and/or management of miniature electro-mechanical, electro-acoustic or electromagnetic components
? Or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or Physics plus a minimum of seven years experience in product development and/or management of miniature electro-mechanical, electro-acoustic or electromagnetic components
? Master’s Degree preferred
? Prior experience with surface mount components, electro-mechanical, or electromagnetic transducers is strongly preferred
? Prior experience and knowledge of audio or acoustic product development is strongly desired
? Global manufacturing experience is desirable
? Demonstration of proven development is required
? Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential
? Proven track record of successfully launching products is a must
? Critical and analytical thinking
? Must be precise, organized and autonomous
