Resident Engineer

Typical duties and responsibilities

1 Initial customer interface for project and technical communications on assigned projects

2 Maintain a constant flow of information in both directions between the Customer and Harman Coordinate project/design review meetings between Customer and Harman.

3 Coordinate Customer’s requirements for prototype and preproduction parts including progress of orders/schedule documents

4 Attend vehicle builds at various stages of the project and provide input to the Customer and feedback to Harman.

5 Produce and progress Customer required design release and change documentation

6 Produce various customer requested documents when assigned

7 Provide support for production level product when assigned

8 Perform other duties as and when specified

Contacts

1. Internal: All departments - all levels

2. External: Harman/Becker Group, Automotive Customers, Suppliers - (all levels)

Desirable Qualifications

Academic:

Min of HNC in either Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering

Preferred, BSc or BA in Engineering Subject

Practical:Minimum of 5 years working in the automotive industry either as a 1st Tier supplier or as an OEM vehicle producer. Experience in component design or project management preferably within the Electrical Hardware discipline of the Automotive Industry.

Physical Demands

Travel to Europe, America, to customers, suppliers, Harman

International sites.

Additional working hours outside standard contracted hours expected to

ensure deadlines are met.
